Starting today
Starting today:
I'm going to live my life to the fullest.
I'm going to have no regrets for yesterday.
I'm going to forget about all the bad experience I've had in the past.
I'm going to do my self a favor -
To forget about the burdens,
To forget about the pains,
To forget about the hurts.
Starting today:
I won't let anyone tell me that I can't.
I won't let anyone get in my way.
I will do things on my own.
I'm going to be my self's best coach,
And I'm going to be a good leader for myself.
Starting today:
I won't waste time on the things that I cannot change.
I won't waste time trying to change what's in the past.
I won't waste time trying to be someone I'm not.
I won't waste time trying to hide my situation.
I won't waste time worry about what people say about me -
Or my situation.
Starting today:
I'm going to live like I won't live again;
I'm going to smile like I won't smile again.
I'm going to do well in everything that I do with no regrets.
And I'm going to shape my life for the better.
"I Choose The Mountain" by Howard Simon
The low lands call
I am tempted to answer
They are offering me a free dwelling
Without having to conquer
The massive mountain makes its move
Beckoning me to ascend
A much more difficult path
To get up the slippery bend
I cannot choose both
I have a choice to make
I must be wise
This will determine my fate
I choose, I choose the mountain
With all its stress and strain
Because only by climbing
Can I rise above the plane
I choose the mountain
And I will never stop climbing
I choose the mountain
And I shall forever be ascending
I choose the mountain
Reaching Upwards
It takes just one step at a time
moving forward and upward
but not stopping for a laze
making sure you hear every wise word
Wisdom is the true source of knowledge
without it you lag way behind
your brain cells will get weak
if not fed they'll go blind
Feed the mind with good books
let the intellect soak it in
it'll instil strength to the brain
together they'll make you win
The body also needs strengthened
for the rocky road ahead
to make sure you reach the target
sustaining yourself with strong bread
So keep looking upwards
never lose sight of the goal
keep these feet moving
till you hit the winning pole

Prove them wrong...
Most motivational speech I get from people is I can't do something and I get inspired to prove them wrong. Yes I can do it...
Go out there and show what you are...
If I am gonna die while trying to go for my dream, then its worth it....
Enjoy Your Life At All Times
Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his pipe. A rich businessman passing by approached him, and enquired as to why he was sitting under a tree smoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fish for the day.
Hearing this the rich man got angry and said: Why don’t you catch more fish instead of sitting in shadow wasting your time?
Fisherman asked: What would I do by catching more fish?
Fisherman asked: What would I do by catching more fish?
Businessman: You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money and buy a bigger boat.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fish and earn even more money.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could buy many boats and employ many people to work for you and earn even more money.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could become a rich businessman like me.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could then enjoy your life peacefully.
Fisherman: What do you think I’m doing right now?
Don’t wait for tomorrow to be happy and enjoy your life. You don’t even need to be rich or powerful to enjoy life. At every moment - LIFE SIMPLY IS - so enjoy it to the full.
“Your riches consist not in extent of your possessions but in the fewness of your wants”.
How failures resulted in great success
- Henry Ford failed and went broke five times before he finally succeeded.
- Beethoven handled the violin awkwardly and preferred playing his own compositions instead of improving his technique. His teacher called him hopeless as a composer.
- Colonel Sanders had the construction of a new road put him out of business in 1967. He went to over 1,000 places trying to sell his chicken recipe before he found a buyer interested in his 11 herbs and spices. Seven years later, at the age of 75, Colonel Sanders sold his fried chicken company for a finger-lickin' $15 million!
- Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor for lack of ideas. Disney also went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland.
- Charles Darwin, father of the theory of evolution, gave up a medical career and was told by his father, "You care for nothing but shooting, dogs, and rat catching." In his autobiography, Darwin wrote, "I was considered by my father, a very ordinary boy, rather below the common standard in intellect.
- Albert Einstein did not speak until he was four years old and didn't read until he was seven. His teacher described him as "mentally slow, unsociable and adrift forever in his foolish dreams." He was expelled and refused admittance to Zurich Polytechnic School. The University of Bern turned down his Ph.D. dissertation as being irrelevant and fanciful.
- The movie Star Wars was rejected by every movie studio in Hollywood before 20th-Century Fox finally produced it. It went on to be one of the largest grossing movies in film history.
- Louis Pasteur was only a mediocre pupil in undergraduate studies and ranked 15 out of 22 in chemistry.
- When NFL running back Herschel Walker was in junior high school, he wanted to play football, but the coach told him he was too small. He advised young Herschel to go out for track instead. Never one to give up, he ignored the coach's advice and began an intensive training program to build himself up. Only a few years later, Herschel Walker won the Heisman trophy.
- When General Douglas MacArthur applied for admission to West Point, he was turned down, not once but twice. But he tried a third time, was accepted and marched into the history books.
- After Fred Astaire's first screen test, the memo from the testing director of MGM, dated 1933, said, "Can't act! Slightly bald! Can dance a little!" Astaire kept that memo over the fireplace in his Beverly Hills home.

- Babe Ruth, considered by sports historians to be the greatest athlete of all time and famous for setting the home run record, also holds the record for strikeouts.
- Eighteen publishers turned down Richard Bach's Jonathan Livingston Seagull, before Macmillan finally published it in 1970. By 1975 it had sold more than seven million copies in the U.S. alone.
- Margaret Mitchell's classic Gone with the Wind was turned down by more than twenty-five publishers.

- When the first Chicken Soup for the Soul book was completed, it was turned down by thirty-three publishers in New York and another ninety at the American Booksellers Association convention in Anaheim, California, before Health Communications, Inc., finally agreed to publish it. The major New York publishers said, "It is too nicey-nice" and "Nobody wants to read a book of short little stories." Since that time more than 8 million copies of the original Chicken Soup for the Soul book have been sold. The series, which has grown to thirty-two titles, in thirty-one languages, has sold more than 53 million copies.
- In 1954, Jimmy Denny, manager of the Grand Ole Opry, fired Elvis Presley after one performance. He told Presley, "You ain't goin' nowhere… son. You ought to go back to drivin' a truck." Elvis Presley went on to become the most popular singer in America.
- Dr. Seuss' first children's book, And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street, was rejected by twenty-seven publishers. The twenty-eighth publisher, Vanguard press, sold six million copies of the book.
Never give up believing in yourself!!!
Kathrine Switzer: The Girls Got What It Needs To Take
Kathrine Switzer showed bravery by contesting a male-dominated sporting society in the 1960′s and 70′s, and played a huge role in achieving gender equality in long distance running. In 1967, Switzer ran the Boston marathon despite the event being open to only males. Upon seeing a female competing, officials and organisers tried to stop her from running, and tried to rip her competition number back from her. Switzer managed to complete the event, and was the first woman to win the New York City marathon in 1974.
The Invitation By Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn't interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me
how old you are.
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesnt interest me
what planets are
squaring your moon...
I want to know
if you have touched
the centre of your own sorrow
if have been opened
by life's betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.
It doesn't interest me
if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know
if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
"Yes."
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me
who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me
where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know
what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know
if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like
the company you keep
in the empty moments.
The Road Not Taken - Robert Frost
The road less traveled is one of the most well known metaphors about life and the choices we have to make. Don't let the turning point in your life pass you by.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing thereHad worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally layIn leaves no step had trodden black.Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sighSomewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
There Is An Eye - George MathesonThere is an Eye that never sleeps,Beneath the wings of night. There is an Ear that never shuts,When sink the beams of light. There is an Arm that never tires,When human strength gives way. There is a Love that never fails,When earthly loves decay.
Lance Armstrong
Diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer at the age of 25, doctors gave Lance Armstrong less than a 40 percent chance of recovery. Tumors were discovered in his lungs and stomach along with multiple lesions on the brain.
His biking career was over or so everyone thought; but no one counted on the indomitable belief Armstrong had in himself and the lessons which his mother, Linda Walling had taught him.
One of the first things that he did was to acknowledge the disease that had captured him in its talons and learn everything he could about it. He devoured books, resources and found help in support groups with people going through similar difficulties.
Lance sought strength in three things his mother had instilled in him
“Make every obstacle an opportunity”, “Always work hard and good things will happen” and “Don’t believe it when other people say you can’t”.
His first comeback after beating cancer was not a success and he finished fourteenth in the race. He even thought about retirement but constant support from his fiancée, mother and buddy Chris Carmichael soon had him training for his next race in the Appalachians.
He returned from his training a transformed man and never let the constant difficulties plough him down again.
True, the doping scandals have destroyed Lance’s reputation as a professional biker. But one cannot but admire his sheer will power and dedication through which he turned the odds in his favor at a time when everyone thought his life was over.
The Strongest Girl I Ever Knew
In Loving Memory of Kelly Doe
She never got to dance,
Or go to her own Prom.
She never got the chance,
To forget where she came from.
She never got to kiss,
A man she idolized.
She never felt love's bliss,
'Cause she was paralyzed.
She never got to talk,
About love with a smile.
She never got to walk,
Down a Church's Aisle.
She never got to say,
Those precious words "I Do".
But she was far and away,
The strongest girl I ever knew.
She couldn't brush her hair,
Or put make up on her face.
She couldn't hold you dear,
Or give you a warm embrace.
She couldn't clasp her hands,
As if in the form of prayer.
She couldn't understand,
Why she was in a wheelchair.
She never showed her fears,
Or let you hear her cries.
She never showed the tears,
That fell down from her eyes.
She never looked for pity,
Or sympathy from you.
That's why she'll always be,
The strongest girl I ever knew.
