Hope Is The Thing With Feathers

"Hope" is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I've heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

By Emily Dickinson

Send a Drop of Kindness

Send a drop of kindness
And see a happy face.
A drop of kindness goes real far,
It may even reach outer space.

Send a drop of love,
And feel a loving embrace.
It feels so good to feel like,
You are in the right place.

Send a drop of hope,
But be that shinning star.
Hope is wonderful to have,
But sometimes you can't sit away so far.

Send a drop of faith,
With a single prayer.
And God will show the way,
As faith is always there.

Living life and having fun

A house becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' on the furniture. I can't tell you how many countless hours that I have spent cleaning. I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect - 'in case someone came over.' Then I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!
Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the condition of my home. They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun. If you haven't quite figured this out as yet, please heed this advice.
Life is short, so enjoy it! Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, or even ponder the difference between want and need? Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead. Dust if you must, but the worlds out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go - and go you must, you, yourself will make more dust! It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived ... and remember, a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

The Sun Will Shine

The sun will shine tomorrow
The rain will somehow end
This is not only a promise
It’s just the way it is

Bad times don’t last forever
The tough times they never stay
The heartache and the let down
Will soon go away

In times of deep sadness
The pain is all too real
And it’s hard to believe
That with time the hurt will heal

The dark clouds that hang above
Will eventually move on
And the storms that dance around
Will soon be gone

Stay strong and keep in mind
That again, the sun will shine

Prove them wrong...

Most motivational speech I get from people is I can't do something and I get inspired to prove them wrong. Yes I can do it...

Grow Great By Dreams

The question was once asked of a highly successful businessman, "How have you done so much in your lifetime?"
He replied, "I grow great by dreams. I have turned my mind loose to imagine what I wanted to do. Then I have gone to bed and thought about my dreams. In the night I dreamt about my dreams. And when I awoke in the morning, I saw the way to make my dreams real. While other people were saying, 'You can't do that, it is impossible,' I was well on my way to achieving what I wanted." As Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the U.S., said: "We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers."
They see things in the soft haze of a spring day, or in the red fire on a long winter's evening. Some of us let these dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nourish them through bad days until they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.

So please, don not let anyone steal your dreams, or try to tell you they are too impossible.

"Sing your songs, and dream your dreams, hope your hope and pray your prayer."

A Poem of Hope

When life is getting you down,
And you need a little hope.
Look deep down inside yourself,
And you'll find the way to cope.

When life is getting you down,
And you need a little love.
Go to the person whom you are the closest,
As the rest they are above.

When life is getting you down,
And all you need is a laugh.
Find the friend that makes you smile,
They may even be your staff.

When life is getting you down,
Don't allow it so.
Change the way you think of life,
And life will be better, you know.

When life is getting you down,
Take time to pray
Don't allow yourself to frown
God will help you see the good in the day.
